Summer Vacation Part 1- DP and South Padre

First stop on our way down south was a visit to the Doctor Pepper Museum, or Yucky drink place if you’re Russell

Even has some Pepsi things for the Pepsi guy

We spent a bit of time racing cars down the track

over and over again 

We ended our tour with some free sample of DP

and Russell bought some DP flavored jelly beans!

Several hours later, we arrived in South Padre!!

Nothing says vacation like relaxing in bed eating chips

Russell was both excited and terrified by the

entrance to this shop

One day, we walked over to the Sea Turtle Rescue Center.

It was a hot walk, made longer by a toddler who kept insisting

that his legs were broken and he needed to be carried. Luckily

you could almost see the center from our hotel, so it wasn't

a far walk.

They have some huge ones living there that

will sadly never be able to survive in the wild.

There were sand sculptures all over the island. 

I wish I was talented enough to create them.

Best food all week was this red velvet milkshake from

a burger place. I must really love Russell to share.

This was our favorite Texas beach we have been to. It was never

crowded, pretty clean, and had perfect sized waves for Russell.

worked on it longer than I thought

One of planned adventures was a boat tour/ dolphin sightseeing trip

They dragged a net and brought up some of the

ocean life for us to see.

The dolphins we followed for a while.

We took the boat out further into the bay. We were going

decently fast and hitting some nice waves. Russell was 

kind of terrified.
