Zoo Date

Dallas Zoo had penguin days during the winter season where admission was half-priced. It was going to be over the end of February and we still had not gone. Stephen was not that interested in going, so Russell and I had a nice Mother-son zoo date.

We spent a lot of time sitting with this guy... they had a bond!

He was a little freaked out to be on the elephant...
and there was no way he was riding the bigger ones!

My cute little date!

He wanted to eat the lettuce out of my sandwich... until he tasted it

The zoo has a fantastic children's section with lots of activities and a petting zoo.
We did none of those things. As soon as he saw the water that was all he wanted
to do for the rest of the time. My goal was to keep his clothes dry, his was to
get as wet as possible. He left the zoo wearing nothing but a diaper, my jacket,
and his socks! That's why we go to that area last!

He had a great time and asked to go back again and again!

Valentine's Day

Once again we had a very low key Valentine's Day. This year probably more casual than ever. We skipped going out for dinner and just met Stephen for lunch that day.

Russell got an amazing Valentine's package from Grandma Cathy... He LOVES all the books she sent him. Stickers and Books= Awesome!

We were festive with some Valentine's doughnuts. Sadly those
hearts didn't taste as good as they looked. Not a fan of filled ones...

Last year we bought each other bookshelves for our media center, this year we got bikes! I've been asking for a bike for a long time. Stephen wanted to get quality bikes without spending tons of money, so lots of research had to happen before the purchase. Luckily Valentines just happened to correspond with a nice bike sale! Yay!!

Russell had been so anti- helmet every time we tried one in a store...
luckily once he was told he had to wear it for the bike ride he didn't care!

We love our bikes! And I get an added workout lugging him around on the
back of my bike. We try and avoid steep hills!
