Russell David

Since we were going to Utah, I asked Stephen's cousin Stacy if she would be willing to take some pictures of Russell. She is amazing and made time. They turned out pretty fantastic. Enjoy!

Love this cute boy with all my heart!

Utah Trip

May 18-24

I basically forced Beth to plan her endowment session when there were cheap tickets from Dallas to Salt Lake so I had an excuse to fly up there. I am such a nice sister! It was a short but fun trip for me and Russell. We fit lots of visits into those few days.

Our first full day we stole Grandma's car and made Beth ditch work to drive down to Payson and Provo. We stopped by Barnett Elementary to visit Lynette and check in on how things have been going since I left two years ago. It's always fun to go back and see old students too. This was the last time I'll be able to do that because they are all going to be in Junior High next year. It was great to see everyone, but I am glad that I wasn't the one in charge of keeping all those crazy kids quiet anymore, ha. Then we did a quick stop to eat delicious french fries and ice cream at the BYU creamery! Oh how I miss that place so much. Best ice cream flavors in the world!!

Russell was the world's worst sleeper this whole trip. He was up multiples times a night, usually for long chunks of time. He decided that he hated his port-a-crib and slept with me almost every night. Not so fun on a blow-up mattress and a wiggly kid, but we made it work. The things we do to see family, haha.

Grandma Jan had an awesome selection of cars, airplanes, and balls that Russell was in heaven playing with. She also had a great selection of old Disney movies. He loved playing with his great grandma and was quite the entertainer!

Since Weirichs ditched us and moved away from Texas, losers, it had been a long time since Russell had any cousin time. He was in heaven! Adleigh was his best friend. He wanted to be doing whatever she was doing. It was really cute. I wish we had more cousin time for him.

My mom is amazing and she planned a family reunion/ bridal shower during the time we were there. It was fun to see lots of the Mikesell cousins and their kids. We had so much fun that I didn't take any pictures! Russell was a little overwhelmed at first with all the people, but by the end was playing with the other kids and throwing dirt at people. Such a boy.

Our last big event was going to the Salt Lake zoo. I love going to zoos and Russell has more fun the older he gets!

Oh yea, and the reason we all came... Beth did go through the temple. It was a great day and Beth had lots of family in there with her. Thanks for inviting me so I had a reason to come back to Utah!
