June at Home

June is always a month of celebrations and fun in our family. This year was no different. Here is what we were up to:

Russell's dental office had a summer carnival which was perfect for a Russell-sized person..
He scored lots of free stuff, including two new cars!

The highlight for him was when the fire truck
came and let all the kids come inside!

And there was also a ninja turtle.

One night when we were babysitting, the ice cream truck drove past. The boys had just finished their dinner so we decided to let them experience the joy of spending too much money on sub-par ice cream.

Russell initially wanted the batman one, but then
changed his mind so they could have the same.

The long awaited time came to go see Cars 3
in the big movie! Russell was very excited.

After the show ended Russell immediately shouted "again, again,"
then asked if we could watch Moana in the big movie.

We decided to do something very romantic on our 5th anniversary and go to a Rangers baseball game as a family. It was an afternoon game and we were very lucky to have nice weather and not be dying of heat the whole time.

Russell got free entry into the kids zone and
practiced his pitching.

Worked on his rock climbing skills and
froze in fear at the top

A fireman hat full of Skittles

Getting his baseball signed

Mickey mouse is a Rangers fan apparently

We played in the rain a lot this month... floated
tin boats down the street

We met up with friends at the park, then wandered and
found some animal friends too

More dress up... Mom got to join in this time

Daddy builds towers taller than Russell!

Sometimes Daddy gets to go swimming with us too!

Perfecting our superheroness

Everyone joined Daddy for his Father's Day breakfast in bed

Then Russell needed his own breakfast 'in bed' on the couch

Made it to the lake. It's the best!

Got some new squirt guns and chased poor Zoey around

Jumped in the mud puddle Zoey dug for him

Celebrated Mommy's birthday early with Papa, Bear and Ashee.

Summer Vacation Final

We decided to stop at NASA in Houston on the drive home. Russell has pretty tired from not napping all week, and not sleeping well in the hotel, so he was in needy toddler mode. He wanted to be carried everywhere and had no interest in cooperating for pictures. Can't blame him too much. We had fun regardless. Stephen wants to go back without a toddler sometime so he can take his time and read everything. Maybe one day I can get my Dad down here and they can explore together!

Russell walking on Mars (I think)

We went on a tram tour to the astronaut training facility and got to stop and walk around different areas...

Russell's favorite part was going in the 'big rocket on the airplane...'

He got to pick a souvenir from the gift shop. He was
very happy about his 'rocket.' It sleeps in his bed
every night now!

The ride home was long and boring for him...
he got a little crazy!

We bought their expensive fancy pictures because it was
the only way to get a family picture with Russell looking...

We had a great vacation and would definitely do it again and stay at the same hotel!
