Texas State Fair

My parents were in town the same time as the Texas State Fair
was happening. Russell and I went once before, but he was little
and we didn't stay very long. So we dragged my parents down to
the fair grounds to check it out. Don't think we are huge fans of it,
but we had a good time. Russell did not want to leave!

We spent most of our time looking at the vehicles.
The Russells could have stayed there for a long time!
Two Russells together are very strong!

Russell found some fancy cars to drive!

Found a mammoth to hang out with...
(at this point Russell decided he wanted to leave
and go to the zoo. Luckily that temper tantrum
ended fairly quickly.)

Sitting so still to get a ghost painted on his cheek

So many turtles and fish! I was afraid Russell
was going to fall into the water.

Checking out an artistic spider... Russell was concerned
that it may have been real.

Russell would have spent all the tickets on ride.
Next time we will have to go when the rides are
cheaper!!

Got a yummy rainbow popsicle

Driving a tractor!

They had this cool exhibit where you did a day at a
farm. They got to plant seeds and 'harvest' the fruits
and veggies from it.

Take the food in their tractor and feed some
to the animals.

They even got to milk a cow. At the end they
sold all their produce and got a ticket for some
ice cream. Definitely a highlight of the day!

I've always heard amazing things about the food at
the fair. Don't know if it was just being pregnant, but
everything just smelled like oil. We were not impressed.
Maybe we need someone more experienced to point out
what to eat there?

  1. Now we can all say we experienced the Texas State Fair. I guess we're just not huge fried food fans?
