Double Digits!

HOLY TEN MONTHS! He's getting so old... Apparently I am terrible at taking unofficial measurements so lets just assume he barely 17 pounds and still 27 inches. Small, but so dang cute!

Here's what he has been up to this past month:
Playing in the rain- was very upset when
I tried to get him to go inside even though
he was shivering cold

Nice warms baths are the best!

Aunt Ashee shared her dolls. He
just liked pulling their hair and
poking their eyes

How dare you eat with out sharing?!
Who needs a dog to beg at your feet...

Sleeping bum up!

Look who can stand! And do dishes.

Cute selfie with Mom

Playing at the beach club

Reading books like a pro monkey

Family Pic

Crawling on Mom, his favorite jungle gym

Crawling...

Attacking!!

Assisting in teaching Sunday School...
or waiting for the candy to be passed out

Standing up to pick his toys out

Trying to transition out of his zippy to
plain pajamas

Almost time to move into our house!

Stormageddon! Don't mess with him, he
has a shovel and knows how to use it.
Also, his Halloween costume finally
fits!

Bear Update

9~Nine~9

Nine months means that we got to go to the doctor and get some official measurements... Apparently I am not very good at taking unofficial measurements because I wasn't expecting these small numbers!

At nine months Russell is:
16lbs 7oz- 2nd percentile
27.25 inches- 16th percentile

Don't worry though, his head circumference is still in the 89th percentile! He is just a very slow and steady grower.

What he lacks in height and weight, he makes up in personality. He is quite the little guy. Now that he can successfully army crawl around, he is exploring his world! He still makes lots of funny noises to entertain us. He will even sometimes join in singing with us. His favorite song is "Old McDonald" or "Old McRussell" as we sing it. He has discovered the door-stoppers on the wall and fun sound they make when you play with them. Remotes are also fun toys, especially changing the channel from what Aunt Ashee is watching. This is such a fun age!

Watching videos- Russell vidoes are the best

Balloons are so fun when you can catch them!

4th of July

Holidays are so much fun with this little guy! Of course he got a new, super cute outfit from Grandma Cathy. He is a little heart throb! Just look at that sweet face...

Robin and Dave were both in Austin for the weekend, so Ashlyn got to party with us! We started the day off by watching the little McKinney parade. Russell loved watching all the cars drive by.

Eating his stroller while waiting for the parade to start

Firetrucks are awesome!

Wasn't as thrilled about the teepee as Dad was

After the parade we went home and relaxed in the AC for a while. We also grilled up some delicious hamburgers to complete the 4th of July experience. Then in the evening we headed out to the Craig Ranch 4th of July party for fireworks. We weren't sure how Russell would handle the night. We had to keep him up way past his bedtime and the fireworks were going to be right over our heads. He did really well. He was mesmerized by the lights in the sky. The noises didn't bother him at all!

Decided we needed to share our snowcone with him
Wasn't sure he liked it- didn't stop him
from begging for more though

Cool light-up glowsticks from Grandma Cathy

Family Time in Corsicana

Baby Breydon was born the beginning of May so we got to drive down to Corsicana and visit them in the hospital. Russell was thrilled to meet his little cousin... or maybe he was just excited that Breydon had cool balloons in his room.

Little baby- Big baby

Then a month later we got to go down and visit again. My mom, dad, Beth, and Mikesell grandparents were all in town for Breydon's blessing. The first night we spent all together in Weirich's house. I was super nervous because Russell had been sleeping terribly and screaming his head off in the middle of the night. Luckily he wasn't too bad. Brian said they only heard him once and Breydon was up screaming too. A cousin duet!

The next night we got to sleep at a hotel. Russell's first time! Best part about the hotel was it had a pool! Russell had never been swimming before, but he loves tubs so we figured he would love a pool. We were so right. He was kicking and splashing and having the time of his life! He would have been happy to stay in the water forever. He is a little fish boy. Lucky for him, my family had another hotel stay a few days later with a pool.

It was a fun weekend. We got lots of family time. We ate lots of delicious food. Kenna needs to have more babies so we can do it again! ;)
