18 Months

Oh. our little Russell David! When did you get so big?

He is definitely more little boy than baby these days. It makes me sad, but it has been so fun seeing his personality bloom. He gets more and more fun each day.

At 18 months he is 22.6 pounds and 31 inches tall. He had quite the growth spurt and is now up to the 28th percentile in weight and 20th in height. Still has a giant head (95th percentile). He is wearing size 3 diapers during the day and size 4 at night to prevent leakage. He is wearing 9-12 month clothes and 18 month pajamas. He has 9 teeth (4 molars, 4 top and 2 bottom) with 2 more top teeth coming in.

Russell seems to learn a new word every day! He knows the names of most of his favorite toys; book, ball-ball, rock, Elmo, blocks, car, truck, R2, Yoda, Bubba (stormtrooper), colors, bubbles, Zoey, movie, and box (tv/xbox). He is also better at communicating what he wants; spoon, teeth, up, outside, shoes, blanket, nums, cookie, juice, cheese, water. His food throwing has also slowed now that he can tell us he is 'all done' when he is finished. He has also started asking 'where are you' when looking for things like his water bottle, Zoey or me. It is the cutest thing!

He is working on his animal sounds. He has down woof, meow, quack, baa, and growling. He sometimes will moo for a cow and trumpet like an elephant.

He is definitely a little boy. He loves anything with wheels. Everyday we play with his cars on their track. He also pushes his big cars all around the downstairs and outside. He also enjoys being outside and playing in the dirt and water. He gets impressively dirty almost every time we go outside to play. Russell also likes playing with action figures. He has his Star Wars toys and Disney characters he plays with.

His love of books continues. He has his favorite, "Little Blue Truck" and "Hop on Pop." He has started 'reading' some of his books out loud. It is adorable!

His newest obsession is coloring! He loves it. It has to be a highly supervised activity because he likes to color on things other than paper and Zoey likes to eat his crayons. He also got outside colors (chalk) for Easter that he likes. Zoey eats those too...

Russell is a collector. When we go for walks he collects rocks and sticks and carries them with him. He likes to have multiple of whatever he is playing with in his arms.

Zoey is his best buddy. He thinks chasing her with a lightsaber or random other things is the funniest thing in the world. He likes to hug and cuddle with her when she will let him.

He can be a stinker too! He throws a pretty good temper tantrum when he doesn't get what he wants. We have our hands full at times! Good thing he is so cute!
