We had half of December in Texas this year. We didn't get out all our Christmas decorations since we would be leaving, but we got out enough for it to still feel like Christmas time.
Russell was big enough this year to help decorate the tree. He loved
looking at all the ornaments.
Our Star Wars Lego advent calendar collection grew by
one more this year! Russell also had a Thomas the train one!
We went on a walk and picked up trash for service to
our neighbors as part of the Church's Light the World campaign.
Russell got to go see a 'big movie,' which is always
a highlight of his life.
Russell assisted in some home projects... or used the
drill like a blaster
Drills are great for breaking up dirt clods...
Decorated and ate WAY too many gingerbread men
Our big Christmas outing in Texas was to the Enchanted Christmas maze. It was giant outdoor light maze where you tried to find all of Santa's reindeer. We happened to have tickets to go on one of the coldest nights in December... all part of the Christmas fun!
Russell and the nutcracker... there were shops with lots of
cool little ones. They were too tempting for little hands, so we
looked very quickly!
We found our first reindeer... they were huge!
Russell and the giant Christmas tree!
There were so many awesome light features around the
maze. Russell was in heaven running around. We had to be careful not to
lose him!
We found all of Santa's reindeer!
And met Santa!
He had some candy canes too!
On slightly warmer winter days, we went to the
park... and collected 'specials'
The houses next to this park have animals.
Russell was very entertained by this very loud donkey.
Then it was time to pack up and hit the road to Tucson!!
Rest stops with playgrounds are the best...
I wish they all had them!
That beats Winterhaven!
