2 and a half

Once again I am behind on blogging. Mostly because I keep forgetting to take pictures off Stephen's phone. So until I get those I do an update on what you all care about most... Russell!!

Russell is now 2.5, which means we are half way through the terrible twos (because that totally ends the day they turn 3, right?!) He is all toddler with a big personality! He is definitely all boy too with his love of all things with wheels and new found joy of tackling people/dogs. (We need to get this kid into football so he can tackle kids with pads, not his friend Wesley, who is half his weight!)

Some thing about Russell at this age:

He is working hard to master his colors. He is pretty good at black, pink, blue, green and orange. He calls yellow things orange and red things are green.

Often when asked to do something, like go to bed, he will say 'no I just playing/eating/etc'. So then we will have to give him minutes with a timer(almost always 10). Most of the time he will be okay stopping with the timer goes off.

He is sleeping in a toddler bed (he has been napping in a port-a-crib lately though) and is completely pacifier free. You can already see his teeth have moved back with the paci pushing them out. When he wakes up in the mornings he spends time playing in his window using the light to read books and play with toys,

He can be the sweetest guy giving big hugs and kisses. He also is pretty good at saying please, thank you, you're welcome, and sorry.

He still loves watching shows and movies. His favorites are Thomas, Mickey Mouse, Elmo, Monsters Inc and Bugs Life. He always asks to watch Finding Nemo/Dory when we go to Bears house.

He still loves his Zoey. He calles her Zoey squirrel, sweet girl and Sweetie. She is his favorite wrestling partner!

He's turned into quite the singer these days. He can be found singing his ABCs or making up new words to songs to fit whatever he is doing. We also have to sing songs together before bedtime, Right now we have to sing nursery songs, but he has also gone through a Moana and Disney phase.

He LOVES going to nursery on Sundays. He spends most of sacrament meeting asking when we can go to nursery and trying to convince me to leave and take him.

His happy place is still outside. Going to the park with friends is always the highlight of his day.

He definitely keeps our lives interesting. We are always entertained watching and hearing the new things he comes up with each day!
